CD City Keeps the Beat for Rory

For many it sounds like a wistful dream: you own your own CD and DVD store, you lead a high energy rock and roll band, and you help keep dreams alive by supporting The Rory David Deutsch Foundation. For Steve Kessler, this is a dream fulfilled.

Steve stays in touch with the needs of his customers. In a marketplace dominated by chains, charts, and play lists, Steve maintains the hands-on management of the small but savvy CD City, at 593 Elm Place in Highland Park. Steve also considers himself very fortunate. When the lights go off in his life at retail, there is still an abundance of time to rock. His four-piece band, “Saturday June”, keeps fans out on the floor and shouting for more. The band is looking forward to future gigs at Arlington Race Track and the Lake County Fair.

Steve’s interest in The Foundation evolved when he met Ross and Mindy Deutsch. His sponsored sales at CD City, and a Saturday June’s benefit concert help to support the work of The Foundation. As Steve keeps his own dreams alive, he also hopes “…to continue to help The Rory David Deutsch Foundation keep its goals and dreams alive, in any way I can!”
