Fitzpatrick “Star” Etching Shines For Rory

Artist Tony Fitzpatrick has earned a local and national reputation for his work. His collections have appeared at The Art Institute, Museum of Modern Art in New York, and The National Museum of American Art, just to name a few. He is known for his collection entitled, “Bum Town,” and is also recognized for his interest in working with children. Tony runs a children’s charity called Children’s Art Initiative, and we are pleased to note that he has made a
contribution of fine art for our Foundation.

This past year, Tony expressed his commitment by creating a stunning etching called “Rory’s Star.” According to the artist, the theme was selected because of Rory’s love for the stars. Fitzpatrick said he also chose a star, “because a star is eternal and there is something about Rory that is eternal too. The etching is done in primary colors and is playful and childlike, like Rory himself.”

The etching was used to create a limited edition of only forty lithographs, which were donated to The Foundation. They sell for $800 each with all proceeds going to The Foundation’s work. If you happen to be in New York City in the near future, stop in to see more of Tony Fitzpatrick’s remarkable works at the Bill Maynes Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
