Cubby Bear Celebrity Golf Weekend
Raises Over $33,000

Nearly 30 celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment came together this summer. Their goal was to make the Celebrity Golf Weekend, hosted by the Cubby Bear North in Lincolnshire, IL, a memorable and successful fundraiser for the Rory David Deutsch Foundation.

The three-day event began on July 8th with a kick-off concert at the Cubby Bear North. Here, nearly 1,000 participants heard Leon Russell's legendary piano playing and participated in a raffle. The next day, two rooftops across from Wrigley Field were reserved for a family barbeque. Both adults and children enjoyed sunshine, hot dogs and an exciting game between the Cubs and White Sox. A good time was had by all, especially the fans of the victorious Cubs!

The culmination event was the golf tournament, held on Monday at the Midlane Golf Resort. The day included special competitions, a barbeque and a silent and live auction.

"The day started out dark and rainy, but by mid-morning, the skies cleared up for Rory," said event organizer Jay Cash of Tri-Star Enterprises.

The success of this event has inspired discussions about the second annual golf outing, which will be announced in 2001!
