Students' gift

(From left) Katie Hinden, co-president of Highland Park High School student senate, Ross Deutsch, Matt Feinstein, co-president of Highland Park High School student senate, and Mindy Deutsch gather in an assembly March 12 in Highland Park High School's gymnasium to celebrate the conclusion of the school's annual Charity Drive. This year the student senate raised $88,000 for the Rory David Deutsch Foundation. Attending the assembly were faculty sponsors Mary and John Gorleski and members of the Deutsch and Samsky family, as well as the entire 800-member student body. Ross and Mindy Deutsch gave the school a painting "Rory's Star" by Tony Fitzpatrick. The Rory David Deutsch Foundation has pledged $200,000 per year for 10 years to researchers at Duke University and $50,000 for five years to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
