Shoot to the Stars

Robbie Deutsch of Highland Park, brother of the late Rory David Deutsch, stands with Jesse White Tumblers, who provided entertainment during the Rory David Deutsch Foundation benefit Nov. 4 at the Windy City Fieldhouse in Chicago. More than 2,000 adults and children attended the evening, which included dinner, a disc jockey and family sports activities, such as basketball, floor hockey and soccer. The fund-raiser featured a silent auction and raffle, which combined with ticket sales raised close to $600,000 for pediatric brain tumor research. The Highland Park-based Rory David Deutsch Foundation was established in July 1998 by the Deutsch family to honor the memory of Rory, who died of an inoperable brain stem tumor when he was seven years old.
